2007 Borgata Poker Open


Welcome to Atlantic City, home of the elegant poker hotspot The Borgata Hotel and Casino. This years Borgata Poker Open, a stop on the 2007 World Poker Tour, kicked off yesterday with a field of 560 players. With a top prize of over 1.5 million dollars the $10,000 entry fee seemed minimal to some.

At the conclusion of day one, only 360 players remained with an average chip stack of 46,667. The playing field consists of not only top pros but many amateurs round out the field. In addition, the Borgata Poker Open as drawn many online poker players to the live scene including up and coming youngster, 21 year old Mario "Pwnasaurus" Silvestri.

After day one, amateur Stanley Kasprzak lead the pack and a notable performance from poker great Mike Matusow took place as he finished inside the top 15 for the day. Play continues today at 11AM local time and will conclude sometime on Thursday September 20th, 2007.
